SOURCE: Technology Review A Bold Venture: Creating an 'Electronic Town Square' with Blogs Ellen Simon AP Technology Writer GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) -- It's a journalist's job to ask questions, but they're usually aimed at outsiders. At the News & Record, a 93,000-daily circulation newspaper in Greensboro, reporters and editors are asking tough questions about the paper itself. The biggest questions: If the paper needs to change to survive, what changes should be made? What can...

Terry Schiavo's parents just asked for a stay from the Supreme Court.

This is a retort to what Frogboy said within an acticle about Terry Schiavo : In fact, why stop there? How about the people are incapable of feeding themselves without government subsidies? Billions are spent providing food to people who somehow have managed to screw up their lives to the point that they can't afford to pay for their own food. Should we stop providing them food? Granted that this quote was just to make a point but in reality, many here at Joe User would agree with th...

An XBOX shortage? Really? So does this mean people like the XBOX now? LOL It is moving upwards and onwards to the level of the Playstation? Did Halo2 create such an event where XBOX's become hard to get? One ponders and things of the future gaming system.... I other thoughts... --- I think games will find a new revenue stream and that will be on-line play and interaction. You buy a game, play it on the consol, but it gets a new life when you extend it to on-line. maybe even new lev...

I have learned a lot reading this particular article on AOL's Career Builder site. These are some of the things I need to focus on when revamping my resume: Pay close attention to the employer's or recruiter's instructions for submitting your resume on each posting. What format should the resume be in and should it be embedded in an email, e-mailed as an attachment, faxed or mailed? Do they want you to include a position code to help them identify the job you're applying for? Think t...

Working at home can be a wonderful treat for those who want to avoid travel or avoid going anywhere at all during the day. Also working at home could mean starting when you want to start and finishing (somewhat) when you want to finish. All of that looks very good to some people especially if you have children. I personally found a job on Craigslist and applied for it since it seemed worthy. It didn't seem like the typical work at home and earn billions of dollars ad. What they wanted basi...

School, volenteer, or become a mentor. Do something during the down time. If you get unemployment, go to school or take a certificate course to stay up to date. Keep a journal like I mention previously. You will be glad ...

Anybody take a look at Google-X? I read about it on CNET news.com. Here is a link to the cached page on Google (because they took it down... it looked too much like MAC OS task bar??) By the way, does anyone know how to make a Object bar like tak bar on a webpage? The story said that they used DHTML and javascript (which I think is covered in DHTML) I would love to have that for my website.

Here are some no-no's for job searching on the low... I really like this one: Don't wear your interview suit to your biz casual office. Nothing sets off a red flag like wearing a suit to your dressed-down office. So how should you handle the wardrobe dilemma? For both men and women, suit bottoms (i.e. pants, skirts) are always passable for business casual.... And don't forget this one! Using your office email for job search applications: Be smart about e-mail. Play it safe, sa...

Make sure you know the difference between a over all plan, and the different milestones to reach your potential goal. Once there, there is a decision to decide to figure out what is next. 1.
