I am trying to find out how to open a tar file on windows. Does Oject Zip open tar files?

Does anyone know of a utility that does open tar files on windows for free?

Thanks you guys.

As usual, I am working on something, but the files are zipped in this tar.gz something.

I am using one of the opensource web systems called Geeklog (maybe you heard of it) for website content control.

They have their update file in this tar.gz zip files. That's fine and all, but what about us zip users?

I looked at the link and I aslo saw 7-Zip. Did anybody try that?

As you can tell, I am a little sensitive as to what gets downloaded and installed on my machine. This is why I am asking for some help on the matter.

http://www.gzip.org/

(To extract .tar and .tar.gz files on Windows 9x/NT/2000/ME/XP use PowerArchiver 6.1 (freeware) or 7-zip (freeware) or Winzip (commercial).)
