It's just another example of what I wrote about a while back. Modern Cartoon vs. Their Retro Counterparts. Maybe you could check it out. Sorry about that, but it really does go very well with my article. Thought maybe some of you would be interested.

I don't think I really like the idea. Looney Tunes was about making fun of the times, not being cool just to get ratings.

My favorite Warner Bros character was always Speedy Gonzales. He had style and attitude, but in the early ninties when they remade the Warner cartoon stable with the tiny toons, there was no speedy clone. You had a duck, a pig, two rabbits, a coyote and a road runner, but no mexican mouse. I remember thinking at the time that Warner had gone PC, and had abandoned speedy because he presented a problem with the potential of the whole negative ethnic sterotype thing. I don't know what these new cartoons are supposed to be, but they sure aren't the one I grew up with.
