SOURCE: CNET Media Blog The Webbys get their groove back By Alorie Gilbert The Webby Awards, once the pinnacle of dot-com revelry, is staging a big, glamorous comeback after several years of low-key events. The ninth annual ceremony, set for June 6, should put some pizzazz back into the party, a celebration of the best sites on the Web. Its organizers are boasting a "star-studded" guest list of more than 400 VIPs and a "majestic" setting in New York City's Gotham Hall. They've...

It looks like Apple is starting a revolution in self service. With the idea of iPodding (doesn't really relate to iPod) of which is to subscribe to an RSS feed that links to audio files, now takes talk radio to a new level. Listen to it when you want, where you want; much like TiVo except it is portable. Now, P2P is (so far legally) creating a way to share your music to the world by broadcasting it. Take a ook at these sites and see what they are talking about: mercora live365.com...

EDIT: On this note, you might want to read what is being said about this on 2 sites: Neowin: Judge rules in Apples favor against Bloggers (ThinkSecret) SlashDot (Also has links to editorials on subject) In this case, what would happen to Neowin if it were to publish something from a 'unknown source'? SOURCE: CNET news.com The coming crackdown on blogging By Declan McCullagh March 3, 2005, 4:00 AM PT In just a few months, he warns, bloggers and news organizations could r...

This is a short introduction to what I believe is something that everyone should do or get into. Basically, joeKnowledge is a website that allows people to create working portfolios and also create a place to store links around the web for access anywhere. As you can read HERE , many businesses are quite into groupware (like People soft/Oracle). It helps with projects by creating a base of knowledge that the project shares. Knowledge base systems, amonst other types of systems, are g...

A sad day indeed. Stardock announced that Textbanners.net will stop in January 2005. I must say that I am disapointed that it did not work out. I had much hope for the program such that it would bring more revenue to WinCustomize (and therefor more servers). Lately, I have devised a way to use TextBanners.ner and Google Ads together and planned on having (or should I say conducting) an experiment with my current progect Search Advertising (current off-line until I can pay that bill UNEMPLOYMEN...

This is so basic, but I can't remember. I know there is a way to have an html fil have a relative link to another filre and upload the text file (or html file) and show it on the page. So for example you have a blank web page with a relative link that the blank page gets the info to show whatever on itself. anybody know what I mean? Second question: CSS: Can ou have a div tag that says "story" and a relative link to where the text file is and then show it on that part of he page? ...

The great thing about my ideas is that somehow I feel as if I am ahead of the curve, if not by a few weeks, bt at times by a few months. With sites like Friendster and others where people help each other to find love and roomates, the new idea is to use that for retial. With eBay proving consumer to consumer sales can work, now other places are doing it as well. But this takes it to a new level. A level that goes beyond just having a link to a forum that reviews consumers thoughts in one post...

As I stated before this blog will be like the other JoeUser blog I have and will be slowly moving to here. While the other blog will remain up it won't be updated beyond next month (June 31 is the limit) as I start the joeKnowledge network of blogs and my personal website. Basically I am in school right now and I figured the best way to show that I know what I am doing and can look up what I learned in the past is to develop a knowledge base to look through. I figured since I am making ...
